Embedded Finance · White-Label Payments

Payments that look and feel like your product.

White-label payments put your brand, not the payment provider's, in front of your customers. Paynancial publishes a custom checkout built on the API and partner programmes; a full white-label offering is something to confirm with our team.

In short

White-label payments present payments under a platform's own brand instead of the payment provider's. Paynancial does not describe a white-label product on this site. What it does publish: you can build your own checkout UI on top of the API, technology partners embed Paynancial's APIs in their own software, and reseller partners resell Paynancial products under their own commercial relationship with merchants.

Overview

What white-label payments mean on Paynancial.

Customers trust the brand they signed up with. When the payment step suddenly shows another company's name and look, some of them hesitate. White-label payments keep the experience in your brand from start to finish.

With what Paynancial publishes today you can get most of the way there: build your own checkout UI on top of the Payment API, embed Paynancial as a technology partner, or resell Paynancial products under your own commercial relationship as a reseller partner. Anything beyond that — branded receipts, statements or merchant dashboards — is something to confirm with our team.

Availability: White-label payments are not described as a Paynancial product. This page covers the published building blocks: custom checkout, and the technology and reseller partner programmes.

In India

White-label payments in India.

General information only. Not legal, tax, financial or regulatory advice.

Who is regulated
Under RBI's framework, the payment aggregator is the regulated party for merchant funds, whatever brand the customer sees. Be clear with merchants about who that is.
Merchant onboarding
Merchants are onboarded with due diligence, whatever the brand on the front.
Clear descriptors
Customers need to recognise a charge on their statement; unclear names lead to disputes.
Grievance routes
Customers should still be able to raise complaints through the regulated routes, such as the RBI Ombudsman.
Compliance in India

RBI

Payment Aggregator and Payment Gateway guidelines

Act of Parliament · RBI

Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007

The law under which the Reserve Bank of India regulates and supervises payment systems in India, including the authorisation of payment system operators. Businesses should consider the applicable requirements under this Act.

RBI

Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) for digital payments

Covers how authorised payment system operators and participants offer customers an online, rule-based way to raise and resolve disputes and grievances about digital payments.

Act of Parliament

Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023

India's law on processing digital personal data — including the personal data in payment records — based on consent, purpose limitation and security safeguards.

Good practice

Getting it right.

  1. 01
Brand the experience, not the obligations

Your brand can front the payment; regulatory responsibilities stay where the rules put them.

  2. 02
    Make the charge recognisable

Use a name customers will recognise on their statement.

  3. 03
    Publish your policies

Show refund, cancellation and grievance details under your brand.
